Dazzling ‘Born Divas’ to Debut at Northern Quest

With an award-winning production staff and a cast of phenomenally talented women, Born Divas is set to debut at the Northern Quest Casino, Spokane, Washington, March 20 through 24. Currently rehearsing in Las Vegas, the show is a non-stop musical romp through the songs, movements and mind-set of the legendary divas of the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and  ’90s.

With an eight-piece orchestra led by Lon Bronson and a team of remarkable dancers backing them up, Marva Scott, Tai Lewis, Avis Ellis and Lisa Mayer recreate the sounds and moves of such memorable stars as Diana Ross and the Supremes, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Donna Summer, Gladys Knight and more in this all-live tribute to the great American diva.

“We were inspired somewhat by the popularity of the movie Dreamgirls,” said producer Jimmy Emerson of Starr Pro Productions, “but we are paying tribute to much more than one girl group. This is a show about showstoppers—those wonderful women who take over a stage with their talent and power. Auditions were exhausting, but we are so lucky to have found exactly the right cast for this show.”

Along with the music, there is plenty of comedy and attitude in Born Divas as well. That, combined with the sensational costumes of Matt Daugherty and Miracle Costumes of Las Vegas and the stunning choreography of Missy Cochran, have produced a show of extraordinary appeal and high entertainment value.

Starr Pro Productions recently brought the hugely successful An Evening at La Cage to Northern Quest Casino and already has plans in the works for other shows.
